The Ramada Queenstown Central Hotel's exterior is undeniably impressive, with feature stonework by SUMNER Schist. Positioned on a hill just before entering the township, the building showcases white granite window surrounds and Wanaka Schist veneer exclusive to SUMNER Schist. These unique features contribute to the hotel's unparalleled appearance.

We take great pride in our work of supplying and installing white granite window surrounds that also served as headers for the schist facade. To achieve the desired outcome, we drew inspiration from the stonework of the Queenstown Library, located less than a kilometre away. We used a 3D mechanical design to ensure that the granite jambs and lintels would fit seamlessly together before manufacturing. Each of these surrounds resembles a carved granite fireplace, but the installation process was challenging due to the great heights involved and the use of scaffolding.
