"UNIVERSAL DRIVE EXTENSION""Henderson"
Denise Oliphant of DJ Design Ltd worked with The Morrison Family, a long-term client, to design Morrisons Commercial Business Park.
The vision for Morrisons Office Park came to Denise soon after, when strolling through Queenstown's Remarkable Park. Inspired by the "stone in combination with metal glass and a splash of cedar", she designed a Henderson landmark.
Denise believed that "using traditional local materials made the project reputable," which is why the tenant occupancy remained high during COVID-19.
The schist was also a personal touch for Denisewho has great admiration for the natural Otago architecture, with husband was originally from the South Island. She considered many schist samples over weeks before settling on SUMNER Otago Brown. "It brings a little bit of South Island beauty to Henderson." Local schist featured on the first building and became Kreem Cafe. All four successive buildings used SUMNER Schist, each marginally different but in keeping with the overall colour palette.
